#355 HEX-Editor itself changes the file contents
I have a text file in the wrong UTF-8 encoding. The file wasn't displaying correctly on the website, but I couldn't figure out why. It turns out that HEX-Editor automatically corrects encoding errors when viewing. I discovered this when I looked at the file's contents in other tools. For the ticket, I created two versions of the file fragment—one original (readme wrong.md) and one with the corrected encoding (readme.md). The first screenshot shows a comparison in HEX-Editor; there's no difference. The second screenshot shows a comparison in WinMerge; a significant difference is visible. My versions: HEX-Editor Plugin v0.9.12, Notepad++ v8.2.2.
Please do not change the contents without command.
