I recieved this in an email from Jean-Michel Hautecoeur this
morning:

Hello,
For four days now, I cannot use OpenAG X : satellite is not
running and even
if I have to download many files in the queue, no files are coming
to me. My
shared database is full of hundred of files and always seems ok
The last lines in console are :

85% CPU usage

Do you think this would be possible at all? I like ot
leave it on so my files are shared, but also do SETI,
and OpenAG X uses somethting like 85% of my CPU whilst
uploading. I love your program, but if there is anyway
to do this I would love it even more :)

Install Confusion

hi guys... had my new mac since february and just now trying to
figure out osX - now that i have time! anyway, i thought the 1st
thing i would do is get AG running, but i am SO confused, i cannot
even get my downloaded files of openAG to install. i don't know if
there is something i am missing about installing software in osX,
or if my file is unstuffing wrong or corrupt. i downloaded
OpenAG_X_1.1.dmg.gz and clicked, it unstuffed into a .dmg file,
and when i click on that it just tells me that there is no app to
open it and i can either 'cancel' or pick an app. it doesn not seem
to be an app file. please help, i'm so used to classic that i feel like
i'm starting over with macs after 10 years :(

Porting To Windows

Okay so I see this is for Mac OS and Linux users which
is nice but I dont use either of them unfortunately (yeah i
got suckered into using an Interface to do everything and
i forgot and refuse to memorize command line
commands again :P )

So My questions is has this been already ported to
Windows or would that be something for an aspiring
programmer ?

(i saw a _WIN32_ line in there i am just not sure how
easily its going to compile so i figured i'll post this
question and if i get time to assemble it and mess
around with it i'll take a look at it

Aso does it assume Unicode ? or no

I moved over from Sputnix, as it quit working for no apparent
reason the developer can tell me. I have up & downloaded about
3,000 songs @ Audio Galaxy.

I selected my mp3 folder for sharing when I set up OpenAG X, and
the status tells me its "Compiling shares...". Its been doing this for
hours & won't let me do anything. The only way I can get anything
to download is to turn off sharing to my main library.

Also, when I log on with OpenAG X, it lets me download, but only
one @ a time.

2 questions:

1. How do I get the program to recognize that I have uploaded over
25 songs so I can get simultanous down/uploads?

2. How can I get it to complete the compiling of the shares so it
can get back to doing what it does best, up & downloading???

Thank you in advance for any help. Mac G4, OSX 10.1.4, 867 ram.

Does it run under socks5 environment e.g.
I am running it under runsocks with socks5 proxy
server. I does not seems to work.

I have been trying to run it under the socks
environment (using runsocks). It does find the server
but cannot connect.

Here is the output. I have "XX'ed" out the Socks IP and
passwd fields.

OpenAG X Processor Usage

I've noticed that OpenAG X uses about 50% of the
processor on average (as listed by top).
Also, when examining cpu load using CPU
Monitor, the lower 3/4 of the display are quite
consistently red, yet I cannot find any system
process that is using so much of the cpu (by top -
u).

Any comments on this?
Is this normal?

the version tracker product description states that a library is
available. the authors homepage states that a library is
forthcoming.
