Hard Disk Non-responsive

Hi There,

I've been using Openfi for almost a year without any problems and I have it in both my cars. Lately the hard disk in one of my cars has been hanging up right after a song has been selected to play. This disk does the same thing in both cars.

The interesting thing is that when I connect this disk to my computer, I have no problem playing any songs at all. What do you think is causing this? By the way, it does the same thing using Simplecenter.

Help installing and configuring OpenFi on DMS-1

Hi, I have the DMS-1 and am running the dreadful
SimpleCenter.
I would like to upgrade it to the openfi platform.
Please can someone point me in the direction of how
it works, and if it needs to run along side
SimpleCenter. Please can I also be told what software
I need to run the OpenFi, and how to do the hardware
connections/configurations.
Basically how to do the complete OpenFi
install/setup/hardware thing.

non-responsive control pad after install on DMP1

After installing openfi_app_ v0.9.210 +
openfi_app_base_installv3,(followed instructions VERY
carefully-multiple times)the install appears
sucsessful but the controls are non-functional.
I re-downloaded from a different server after noting
the files on the drive do not match the instruction
example, in that they do not
have ".openfi_app_config" or "etc_hosts".These may
not be needed, of course.The DMP1 was at firmware
build 2-0-315 before installation and the controls
function normally after removal of openfi.The unit
was upgraded long ago to a 60GB Toshiba drive. As
soon as openfi bootstrap finishes scanning, it
shows "Music Collection" on screen, but no other
interaction is possible, even after repeated re-boots.
I have scoured the forums, but may have missed a
solution. Perhaps I've missed something
obvious/stupid.
As this is free software, any help would be
generous, though considering history, we omnifi
owners are easy to pity.

I've been running Openfi for a few days now, all
fine, but now I find after the openfi bootstrap
happens it says something like:

openfi app v.0.9.202
Scanning disks...
Disc0(Dxxxxxxxx)(SC)

and stays that way for a long time, at least 30min,
at which point I have to turn the car off.

What is "Scanning disks..." - is it a normal
procedure and should I be worried about it? I can't
find anything written about it here.

I have about 2500 songs on it, all MP3, synced by
SimpleCenter wireless.
