[Examples] Split examples into their own project.

As I create satellite libraries, it seems increasingly
that life would be simpler if I moved the demo programs
to a central examples project. The examples do not
require frequent updating; their images add significant
bulk to both the source and binary distributions;
several demos require parts from more than one of the
satellite libraries.
