Very sorry, but, realistically, I'm very unlikely to be able to find the time to implement this (sorry again).
I no longer have the compiler I made it with, although probably it'd compile OK in modern Visual Studio. I've no idea if I'd be able to make the installer still work either.
The main reason I made it (distinct from Weird Metronome) was to have something that'd run on my Windows Mobile phone/ Pocket PC devices, but they were both discontinued 12 years ago!
I think if I did go back to Open Metronome (it's been 10 years!), the first thing I'd change would be to switch the kick drum WAV: now my son's a drummer, I wince when I hear the one I used at the time:D
I can see someone has picked up and modified the source on github: https://github.com/barton001/OpenMetronome
It's possible they may be able to make the modification for you.
Otherwise, I'd reaaaally hope in the last 10 years someone else has made something that will do the same thing:) There was stuff available at the time I could have used, but not on my Pocket PC. I feel like cross-platform is much more of a thing now (if I really wanted to go back to Open Metronome, I'd probably do it in Unity now, & it'd work in a browser, on your phone, everywhere).
I know I looked at Hydrogen: http://hydrogen-music.org/
back when I was looking at open source metronomes.
I see it has a tap-tempo thing: http://hydrogen-music.org/documentation/manual/manual_en.html#sect.main_toolbar.tap_tempo_beat_counter
And I'd guess you could wire that to a footswitch or something if you wanted to if you were looking to perform.
Sorry I can't be more help,
Regards,
