Totally out-of-the-blue idea, but why can't predecessors / successors be a hyperlink to a bookmark, rather than a number?
It would make the GANTT chart more readable (I.e. "Successor = NEXTSTEP" instead of 345).
Attach a "bookmark" to a task, and then it's a target. Exporting to XML isn't a problem since all you have to do is resolve the bookmark to a task# at that time.

I still really love this idea as well! You can easily see the differences and consistency of the phases, stories, or whatever you like. I would like to put colors on the work packages.

Enable FIlters on WBS

It would be really helpful to have a filter to show only Rollup-Tasks within WBS. Because when you have large plans with some hundred Tasks this would help to keep track of Deliverables and Workpackages.

This is something commercial products (like WBS-Director) already have.

Like others apps, the button on right side of window for fullscreen view on mac improves the interface and makes better the visualization of projects.

There are many updates that have occurred over the past several months. Our initial goal with ProjectLibre was to concentrate on a replacement of Microsoft Project Server. However, the years of inactivity with OpenProj cause our rethinking of that strategy. We ultimately decided to bite the bullet and have a new release called ProjectLibre. It was important to get the desktop project management replacement of Microsoft Project working first..... In most areas ProjectLibre is a complete rewrite, in the future it may be completely rewritten.

We will send out a note on Thursday afternoon alerting everyone to the release. Your feedback is appreciated! We also are pleased people are signing up for the Global User Group. This is the central correspondence but you can also join regional communities. We will be announcing specific information for your regional groups as well. Your assistance in promoting the pending release are also very important. The ProjectLibre beta is a major improvement including:
Compatibility with Microsoft Project 2010

* Printing feature
* Major bug fixes and more

Once again, it has been a long haul but we are excited with the pending release! One other note, we have received a nice outpouring of support from the community. Update on ProjectLibre update of OpenProj: I am the founder of OpenProj and have gotten involved again with Laurent Chrettienneau who was my co-founder. We are releasing ProjectLibre which is the first update in over 4 years together! It will have bug fixes, updated Microsoft Project import/export, and printing support. We are releasing in August.

ProjectLibre will also be hosted on SourceForge. We are excited with the progress. We are fixing many bugs and will be adding correct import/export with MIcrosoft Project along with printing. Those have been major missing components for many years. We are in discussions and chatting with the Serena folks but at this point the new release will be called ProjectLibre. There will be more news coming and if there are other features/bugs let the team at ProjectLibre know!
