I bought a Logitech R500 remote because my old one did not work well with my new MBP. The remote works great via Bluetooth. Unfortunately it does not work well with OpenSong. Is there something that can be done in OpenSong? Or is that asking too much?

    Hi
A presentation remote simulates key presses (or rather, acts as a limited keyboard). As far as I know, OpenSong supports most of the commonly used key combinations a remote might send. However some others are used differently.

As the remote just sends key presses, there is not much we can do to help you with your specific remote. However, your remote, according to Logitech's product specification, comes with an app which allows you to tweak the keys. You might want to check this out.

As your remote sends key presses, please make sure the OpenSong presentation (presentation screen or presentation helper window) has the input focus during the presentation.

I could not find any specification as to what key combinations your remote is sending. If you can't tweak it with Logitech's app, try to find out (using a key logger or by some other means), which key combinations it send, and we might be able to add these, if not used otherwise already.

Thank you for the quick reply and the pointers!
I guess I am closer to the solution. OpenSong is reacting when I use the remote. I forward seem to be the forward key and backward the backward key. So I could create a custom keyboard layout for that. I would rather remap those in OpenSong. But that is not possible right?
Tweaking the keys works only for long press state. It is a workaround but not great.
