This method should be called before derived servlet gets a chance to process each request.&lt;br /&gt;
The WebUIServlet is derived from WebSessionServlet which ensures that if login is required and user is not logged in when request is received, the user will be redirected to a login page using redirectToLogin method. If an application implements the login process in such a way that it overrides the redirectToLogin method and then just displays JSP pages from within this method, the page will throw an exception if it tries to access the "loggedin" flag.
