I stumbled along Activiti BPM and feel linke we should do some investigation on it. A long time ago the idea came up to use a BPM system for the dynamic workflow handling in TMS. If Activiti fulfills our needs we can use it with other modules as well.

Please have a look at the attached documentation and do some initial research on Activiti and the integration with Spring and OpenWMS.org
