Encrypted config file may be problematic

Hi!

Justin here. The folks at the place of my last employment where I deployed Panicbutton (Zbutton in their politically correct parlance) notified me that there had been an upgrade for SSL/TLS. So I looked at the list of upgrades, and saw the EFS encryption for the config file.

Having been away for awhile from this software, I believe the config file is a per-user config file, for which encryption with EFS may not be a good solution, especially when password changes (perhaps reset by an administrator) will make the config file unreadable. I'm not sure if EFS has the ability to rely on credentials in compensating for a changed password, but this is an area that you may want to investigate further.

Keep up the good work! I like this software! Very intuitive, and has a good graphic icon which is good for users to find.

Settings Won't Save

When I try to enter my user settings form e-mail, SMTP server, etc., and then click on OK, nothing happens. I have to "X" out of the window, and my settings are not saved.

German localisation characters wrong

German 'umlaute' are displayed wrong - at least I see that on Win2K, not tested yet on XP though.

When I send a report the windows stays with written on the bottom :

No tool tip

There is no tooltip !
When I copy from the pb-config.conf example in 'Program Files\Panic Button':

[Misc]
Icon Tool Tip = Click to send problem report

to my pb-config.conf in 'Documents and Settings\accountname'

there is no tooltip!

Whats wrong ?

pb freezeing

Strange flicker seen on occasion while "dormant" in sys-tray

There's been a noticeable flicker seen on occasion
since installing the panicbutton tool. This is not
seen while trying to use the tool, but while it is
sitting dormant (?) on the system tray. It's a bit
more frequent, but probably is doing some kind of
polling (for whatever reason - it's supposed to be
event driven, right?). I'm using a flat panel screen,
which may have something to do with it, due to retrace
speeds. But others have mentioned this to me as well.

Infrequent startup of additional panicbutton instances

On rare occasions additional icons of panicbutton will
show up in my system tray. The panicbutton utility
has been used occasionially. It's not a situation
where I've clicked on the executable too often. It
will just show up.

(I have not seen a pattern - happened to me 2 times
over a 2 week period, someone else reported 1 instance
over a 1 week period)
