Poedit will generate a .po file and a .mo file.
The program uses the .mo file. Keep the .po file for the next version, otherwise you would have to translate all over again !
If you are on Windows, locate the directory :
... PdfBookShuffler\share\locale\
in the directory of the program.
Translations are not yet working on Linux.
In a Windows installation, you must :
Create a new directory for your language, which name must be the official Internet code of your language (fr for French).
See in the fr directory how things are done and do the same :
Create the LC_MESSAGES directory in your new directory, and copy in this directory your new pdfbooklet.mo file.
Restart the program. Normally your translation should be active, but there is a condition :
Language selection is automatic, we have not provided a mechanism to change it manually. PdfBooklet will use the language of your Windows / Linux installation if it finds one, otherwise language will be English.
I have just implemented language choice on the command line. It will be available in the next release.
Presently, there is a possible trick : copy your new pdfbooklet.mo file in the directory corresponding to the language of your OS, even if it is different. I have a French Windows. But if I copy a Spanish translation in ...\share\locale\fr\LC_MESSAGES, I will see the spanish translation in the program.
If you have an English Interface, then you will have to create \share\locale\en\ and use it to test.
The other .mo files you find in the fr branch are not our work, they are translations for GTK messages. You can find them in any gtk2 installation.
summary: Arabic translating --> Creating a translation
I must add : I am unsure how the interface will support a right to left language, I never made a test.

that's not comfortable to hear :(
ok maybe i can translate 40% of the po file and send it to you, then you open the interface in Arabic and Take a Screen shoot and send it to me! (because it take a native Arabian to know if the Arabic were well supported).
it was me "the anonymous user" but wasn't logged in.

Hello mandi, your file is working, but you translated the wrong one. The pdfshuffler po file is used only for the pdfshuffler interface (and I noticed that it is quite out of date, I will fix that, but I am not the author of this program). For PdfBooklet, you should translate the pdfbooklet.po file that you find in the fr directory, or translate the untranslated pdfbooklet.pot file which is probably present in the sources. Sorry for the "probably", I didn't packaged the sources myself. I attach the file to this message.
Hello,
if I want to try a translation for German - is the pdfbooklet.pot file above (2014) still up to date or would I better take another one?
Thank you.

Hi,
here we have a german .mo file for the PdfBookShuffler\share\locale\de\LC_MESSAGES folder.
Some parts of the GUI are still in english, there were no entries for these parts.
I was unsure about words with _File (lines before words). Are these for keyboard shortcuts? I tried to imitate them in some cases, but not in all.
About this question: << Why does PdfBooklet (still) install in a folder called "PdfBookShuffler" ? >>
The resaon is that simple: the PdfBoolet installer includes PdfShuffler utility

To translate PdfBooklet in your language, the procedure is the following :
You should find tutorials for poedit on Internet. Here is an example :

Sorry, my message was not very clear. I modified it.
Anyway, translations are now supported in Linux versions (only the tar.gz version, presently)
