I feel that adding this feature request would greatly improve the application. No matter which PDF Split and Merge plugin you use, there is no consistent output file format. The generation of a unique file name for pdf output would allow for easier tracking and organization of files.

Running PDF Split and Merge 2.2.4, Java Version 7 update 60, Windows 7 x32.

When the user merges multiple pdf files then in the entry field for the target result file name a (unique) file name should automatically be filled.
This file name should be the same as the file name of the first merge files name PLUS a "...._out" before the extensions ".pdf" or
- alternatively - a timestamp like "....20100409-165734".

If the user does not like the suggested filename he can changed it manually.
