Sorry, but it will be too much work to separate this old code.
I prefer to concentrate on the functional features.

Separate the php-code from the html and put these files in a theme-folder.

I would love to commit to a more modern UI. Give me the tools (themable-UI) and I as a systems architect/sysadmin and other users will be able to commit to theming this superb tool.
