I'd like to have .co.nz to be available to search on the whois which primarily takes from this server: whois.srs.net.nz.

May i know how can i manually add this handler to the whois script?

Please advise.
Thanks
Regards,

http://phpwhois.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/phpwhois/phpwhois/?sortby=date#dirlist

#83 Future updates

It is ok PeterK2003. I know it is open source project and you can actually do what you want to do with codes but consulting originally coders about it is first step that i would do as i'm coder.

Never mind. It is important that we have now 2 similar project. Once works still (since David found time to fix it) and other one is in development.

See ya

#83 Future updates

nullevent, thank you for your response but we ordinary users do not care of there is 'modern state' (where people on shared hosting should probably have issues with installing: Composer - must ask hoster for installing, integration with Travis, phpUnit ....) but functionality and easy way of installing as phpWhois is on this moment.

For myself as ordinary user is most important thing that Bug which did broken working of script self is fixed in no time and that there is easy installation (updating files on the server, modifying a couple code and testing).

It looks that you have another priority and it is fine. But i can tell you that it is not what ordinary users are seeking for.

Good luck with your project.

#83 Future updates

Sorry i didn't mean to start a turf war.... :/

#83 Future updates

why wasn't there a new release with the fix.

So it shows up here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpwhois/files/?source=navbar

I assumed it wasn't updated since 2011.

#83 Future updates

Deny, thank you for being that deep involved in the project. It seems like you have quite strong skills in managing open source developers. You might be interested in hiring one matching your ambitions to fulfill your talents. Also Github didn't tear down the merge requests and forks features yet, so always fill free to hack the code, just like I did.

And seriously, the goal #1 for my fork's v5 is to rewrite the code to the modern state and add functional tests. So community members may easily contribute and fix bugs without having to dig code as deep as needed for v4, and after have some automatic proofs that their changes are not breaking the core functionality.
A brief roadmap for v5 is located at https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois/blob/master/docs/ROADMAP.md
As soon as reworking will be finished - I will post the notice.

#83 Future updates

Actually i think that it is a bit disappointment that while people asking for fixing bugs with Arin/IP addresses lookup in November in your taken project - https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois/issues/8 ) you guys did not have found time to fix it. Or you do not know it how to fix it.

From one side i appreciate that someone decide to take this project and try to development something new but from other side i'm bit worry about your skills regarding this project (active development of project with open bugs for more than 2 months is not promising).

#83 Future updates

Thank you for response.

I've been in contact with David Suez for more than a year. He would like to wait a bit before realizing new project (because of new gtld domain names) but later because lack of time he forgot almost about his project phpWhois.
I've pointed to him bugs along with other people and he found time to fix it a 5 weeks a a go (i believe that you still not have fixed same issue with IP addresses by your development of this project).

I'm not sure of David will continue with this project by releasing something new and it is good that you gonna to contact him about this.
