Outstanding Issues

Here are some outstanding issues with the translation
files:

* Invalid use of vowel signs with Ura, Era and Iri. It
should be noted that in all cases, the pre-composed
glyphs should be used and you should not construct them
yourself. For example:

Punjabi vowel letter I SHOULD be constructed using a
single codepoint - U+0A07. It should NOT be
constructed using U+0A72 + U+0A3F.

This peculiarity ONLY applies when using Ura, Era and
Iri. It does NOT apply to other letters.

* Invalid use of proposed extensions to Unicode
submitted by TDIL that were not accepted. For further
details, see:
http://tdil.mit.gov.in/prop_uni/Gurmukhi.pdf .

The characters that should not be used (i.e. ones NOT
accepted by the Unicode consortium) are:

U+0A7E -> Use U+0A06 + U+0A02 instead
U+0A50 -> Use U+0A74 instead
U+0A74 -> Use U+262C instead
U+0A3B -> Use U+0A71 instead
U+0A4E -> Use U+0A4D + U+0A39 instead (CONJUNCT)
U+0A4F -> Use U+0A4D + U+0A30 instead (CONJUNCT)
U+0A64 -> Use U+0964 instead
U+0A65 -> Use U+0965 instead
U+0A76 -> Use U+0A4D + U+0A35 instead (CONJUNCT)
U+0A78 -> Use U+0A4D + U+0A2F instead (CONJUNCT)
U+0A7D -> Use U+0A40 + U+0A02 instead
U+0A7E -> Use U+0A3E + U+0A02 instead

The following characters do not have an equivalent in
the Unicode standard at present. However, they are not
used in modern Punjabi, so they should not pose a
problem at this stage. They are:

U+0A3A
U+0A77
U+0A79
U+0A7A
U+0A7B
U+0A7C

*Conjuncts NOT used. Unfortunately, U+0A4E, U+0A4F,
U+0A76 and U+0A78 seem to be used instead of conjuncts.
Conjuncts are the CORRECT way of encoding these signs
in Unicode - See above for details of using conjuncts.

Saab is currently the ONLY compatible Unicode 4 font
available freely on the internet. It should be used
instead of other incompatible fonts. Saab contains all
conjuncts and position features neccessary for Unicode
Gurmukhi.

GurSerif Bug in Gnome & Fedora

There is bug in Gnome 2.6 files and also in the Fedora
Project.

All the Words are represented by the more Glyphs and in
GurSerif there is no Glyphs. Now Need to reedit the files.

with GurSerif fonts ,there is no such Problem, but
actual this is not correct form.
