I'm not entirely sure of the difference between qucs and qucs-s, so please bear that in mind when reading the rest of this :)
I want to test whether I can create a sim file using qucs-s in the same way as with qucs:
qucs -i infile -o outfile -n .
Can it be done and if so what is the command?
The latest Debian package I can find of qucs-s for Ubuntu is 18.04, installation fails on Ubuntu 20.04 with missing dependencies, so I think it may have been abandoned anyway. I therefore wish to test the Snap version. The command for qucs is:
qucs-spice.qucs i infile -o outfile -n
This doesn't work even though Ubuntu Software Installer tells me I have qucs-s installed. Can it be done and if so what is the command?
Qucs won't be available in Debian before Qt5 is supported. Qt5 will probably be supported by future modular Qucs. It is under construction.
Modular Qucs will also provide Qucs-S commands, but they need to be ported.
