Apply settings w/out closing options window

It would be useful if one could change and apply settings without clicking the 'OK' button and having the options window closed.

Settings could either apply immediately (on state change), or there could be an 'Apply' button.

Custom privilege string

Could we set our own privilege text for the titlebar?

Examples:

"Running as %role%" ~ "Running as Administrator"
"Running as %compname%\%user% (%group%)" ~ "Running as System1\Glen (Administrators)"

%role% would be the singular form of the group name. e.g. Administrators -> Administrator. Or you could have basic functions to act on strings, like 'single' and 'lcase' (although this might not be easy to implement).

Example:

"Running as lcase(single(%group%))" ~ "Running as administrator"

Could even include the icon that way. "%icon% %group"

This will allow you to remove a lot of the existing options on the options window related to privilege information.

The default privilege icons are a bit fugly. Is it possible to use our own?

Option to change privilege information font style

It would be nice if one could turn off the bold style of the text in the titlebar (the privilege information).

Show privilege information only when running as unrestricted

It would improve the UI if privilege information in the titlebar is only shown when the application is running unrestricted.

This could be optional.

Logging

We have customers with limited access, and many of them (of course) would like admin access to install stuff. But we wish to limit the problems caused by admin access.

This software looks promising. But it would be useful to log date/time and action requested details whenever someone opts to run something with elevated privileges. This way, we wish to audit their machine at a later time, we can see what they needed to use elevated privileges for.

easy switching shell

and still protected by not running it as admin.

Windows Vista support

Are there any plans to support Windows Vista?
Currently I have found the following isues trying to run current beta 7 on Vista RC1:

- MSI setup fails. I installed MSI content manually (registering DLLs, modifying shell entry, registering DLLs, etc.) from a working XP to continue testing.

- Captions are not shown when using Aero theme. It its shown when using "Vista Classic" theme, but X offset adjustment is needed (final text and icon go under minimize button)

- Shim only runs fine when configured to run explorer shell as priviledged process.

- When configured to run as normal user, or when using Shim Run dialog to run as normal, all programs that run unpriviledged just crash. The errors in the event log looks like the following:

It seems related to my previously reported issues with Tablet PC components on XP, as the tiptsf.dll module is part of Ink components that are also running on my tablet now with Windows Vista RC1. Don't know yet if Shim would work on non-tablet hardware. I hope I can test it in near future.

Hope this info is helpful, I'm willing to turn off Vista "Low User Access" anoying feature and replace it back with Shim!!! )

Enable/fake contextmenus for Control Panel

Great app. I really love it.
However using the control panel is a real pain.

I would like to se a fature that replaces (or duplicates)
the control panel in Windows with Shortcuts so that
rightclicking a control panel item brings up the Run as
context menu.

As it is today I have to create a seperate folder in All
Users programs folder contining manually created
shortcuts to all control panel items on every machine I
wish to install RunAsAdmin on.
