Don't really know which forum to put this in as they all seem apt.
This question could be called a bug, feature request, user contribution or general discussion depending on context.
Basically want to send just a carriage return and nothing else.
In the Utf 8console screen set the following
Append: None
Send on: Enter
In the Settings "console options" screen
send on enter key: CR
Now I would expend just pressing "Enter" when my cursor is in the send box would send my desired carriage return but nothing happens.
Tried the send button by itself and again nothing happens.
Typing enter in the send box then pressing enter again doesn't work either.
I did discover one workaround which is the following (user contributions)
Append: None
Send on: Alt+Enter
Press "Enter"
Press "Send" button
Is there something I missed or a easier way? (General Discussion)
Is this a bug that can be fixed in that the expected behaviour should be that just a Carriage Return
should be sent for my original settings if either the "Enter" key or the "Send" button is pressed (Bug Report)
If not deemed a bug is could also be called a (Feature Request and improvements)

you have two possibilities:
Set the format of the send area to 'hex'
add 0d in the send area
Append: None
Press the enter button

Did have some problems trying out your second suggestion as I was pressing "Enter" whilst the cursor was in the send box at the bottom of the page whereas I needed to put the cursor in the Utf8 box.
In order to clarify this solution for anyone else reading this here is the full setup.
In the Settings "console options" screen set the following :
send on enter key: CR
In the main screen:
Check the "send input" checkbox (at bottom of screen).
Click the "Utf8" tab.
Click the "Utf8" box (under the "Utf8" tab) after the last character.
Press "Enter" on the keyboard.
As regards using the send box at the bottom of the screen to do this as I originally was I would still classify this as a bug as the expected behaviour doesn't happen. For this my original workaround seems to be presently the best option.

PS: Big thanks for your efforts in creating this app!!! It's very much appreciated as it's the only tool I found that looks like it will accommodate all my needs. As for my other suggestions in the "Features request" forum I realise this is a labour of love and that for various reasons you may not implement them. Note as I am a programmer I am using the scripting capabilities of your app to provide some of these customised features and any useful scripts for others I will post in your "User contributions" section.
