Now it
works only in some dialogs, like the search/find dialog:I can paste from
clipboard correctly, but I can not select only some text, just all the text from the dialog. It would be useful in RHIDE too.

bulk add/open buttons for file dialogs

the file dialog should have an "entire subtree" button.
relevant both for "add to project" and "open file".

maybe make a counter and issue a warning if the subtree
contains more than, say, 25 files.

key + menu binding schemes

it would be nice to be able to select complete schemes
of key and menu bindings, like of colors. at least
"classic" and "X-compatible" should be shipped with
setedit.

menu bindings editor wanted

menu bindings should be editable inside setedit.
it's a very low priority item, as the config file is plain text,
but it would be nice to have nonetheless.

better keybindings editor wanted

the key bindings dialog is very unintuitive.
the first thing is, that it should be listed by function, not
by binding - yes, i know the implications ;).
then, nesting that many dialogs is plainly weird - it's sort
of a wizard. not that a wizard would be bad, but then
make it a real wizard with all dialogs at one hierarchy
level, with "next" and "back" buttons and make each
dialog preserve it's settings even when going back.

"fork buffer" function

alternative name: use file as template.
functionally identical to "select all"+"copy"+"File|
new"+"paste"

dragging this further, one could introduce real templates
as well. e.g., every new c++/h file pair in a project looks
the same: license header, for the c++ the h inclusion, for
the h the double inclusion protection. hmm, that would
require string substitutions in the template, so maybe it is
better to do this simply with a sLisp macro, provided the
necessary functions are there.

newline conversion semantics

the cmcSaveAs[No]ConvertEOL functions are
non-intuitive. i think it would have been better to retain
the old names (SaveAsDOS, SaveAsUNIX), but put
proper semantics on them. SaveAs would save in the
format the file was loaded in (or the native format for new
files).

actually, it might be a good idea to entirely drop the
SaveAs variants and make newline conversion a regular
editing action.
