Sorry for the bump, but this has occurred to me too - I'm on gmail and my newsletter stopped on Sep 2018 (I was in the process of "catching up" during the holidays).

For about the past week I've been unable to post or comment: I had a front-page article published and couldn't comment on that - which was a drag!

I can post as anonymous coward, but not while being logged in. And, it also seems that I can't log out.

If someone could help I'd very much appreciate it.

Clicking the score no longer shows moderation info

This broke sometime in the last couple of weeks on Slashdot. Previously, when you clicked the score on a post, it would show the moderation. Now, it does nothing. I'm seeing this both in Safari (current version, current OS) and in Firefox (15.0.1 at the moment).

Missing bullets in Safari

In Safari, when viewing posts that contain bulleted lists (ul tag), the bullets are missing. This has been broken for a while (I reported it a couple of years ago, but I'm not seeing it in this bug tracker, so I guess it didn't make the leap over to SourceForge from whatever you were using internally before).

Social/share buttons severely compromises UX on iOS

Bug is on live Slashdot website. All articles affected, so no need to provide specific URL. Browser: iPhone/Safari, iOS5, with Slashdot "Mobile" or small screen setting.

Description(s) of bugs:
The recently-added social/sharing buttons for Facebook, Twitter and Reddit make reading on iOS extremely frustrating. Moderating/"Read rest of comment" is also impossible now.

These buttons appear whenever finger-scrolling. When the finger is released, share buttons disappear, but Slashdot now also interprets this as "finger up" as a tap on that spot on the screen. Since Parent and Reply links now go to separate pages on iOS (and other mobile devices?), this means in a long discussion, I can be scrolling down and accidentally trigger these links, which now loads new pages (it used to load in-line using Javascript/AJAX) if I don't kill the page request in time. When I hit back to return to the original page, I've now lost my place in the discussion if I've expanded any nested comments.

Long comments with a "Read rest of comment", and the moderation drop-down, no longer work because the "share" button elements somehow prevent user taps from being recognized by these UI elements.

Been a member of Slashdot since the late 90s, have even kept the advertising on even though I have the option to turn it off. This is most mind-bogglingly frustrating thing I've ever encountered using Slashdot though, all for the sake of a feature I'll never use and can't even disable. So, advertising will be disabled until I can actually use Slashdot on my phone again.

Sharing buttons have no option to hide/remove them

Recently added popping-up-on-mouse-hover sharing buttons (Twitter, FB, G+) have no option to hide/remove them.

As a workaround, I had to activate AdBlock and add element hiding for the class "comment_share".

P.S. Also, in FireFox 3.6, at text zoom level 1 (hit ^+ once), the appearance of buttons inside of the comment block causes it to change size, what is very annoying.
