&lt;p&gt;Essentially, I'd like to see the x highest-rated comments for a story, instead of always seeing all comments rated y or higher.  I'd suggest two settings, a minimum number of comments and a preferred number of comments.  The minimum would be a hard value, and could drop the rating to -1 if there weren't enough comments at higher levels, while the preferred would be a softer value.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Example:&lt;br /&gt;
-1: 500 comments&lt;br /&gt;
0: 150&lt;br /&gt;
1: 100&lt;br /&gt;
2: 60&lt;br /&gt;
3: 45&lt;br /&gt;
4: 25&lt;br /&gt;
5: 10&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Preferred        Minimum          Min rating (comments) shown&lt;br /&gt;
15                   12                     4 (25)&lt;br /&gt;
15                   10                     5 (10)&lt;br /&gt;
20                   10                     4 (25)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And so on.  It would allow me to get a feel for the discussion about an article without having to change my minimum rating every time I switch from an older article to a newer one, or vice versa.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Kevin Lyles</dc:creator><pubDate>Tue, 24 May 2011 00:14:00 -0000</pubDate><guid>https://sourceforge.net59624b27135eabc9246b148c08ad69608c866429</guid></item></channel></rss>
