File descriptor never closed in 3.4.8

In file confparse.c, function initconf(char*) opens a file (line 655). However, I can't manage to find where it is closed.

If I'm right, that can be a problem, since this function is called on SIGHUP, and the configfile is never closed.

ircd.conf values being ignored.

Certain values from the ircd.conf are being ignored, and reverted back to the default values as per header file config.h.

Hi, I'm trying to write a load testing type system and so my first port of call was to increase the number of connections to 65535.

So, I ./configure --with-maxconnections=65535, re-make, run the IRCd, get errors regarding how many open files I'm allowed, become root, run `ulimit -n 65535', re-run the IRCd and it starts up successfully.

Then my load tester isn't able to create > 1021 connections, without anyone else "on", and even with some connection delays.

What's... going on here?

Off by one in sendto_all_servmask()

Notices to a server mask (e.g., globals, via '/notice $*' or via services) don't make it to the most recently connected user. The loop in sendto_all_servmask() walks up to "i < highest_fd", instead of "i <= highest_fd" like every other similar loop in the codebase. See attached patch.

Global exits

Hi,

It seems that since last update on ircsuper the global
exits, that are supposed to be sent to +C clients, are
not being sent anymore...only global connections. I
usually keep track of connections/exits for warnings
and network monitoring and i would like to receive the
exits again :)

Client host not resolving

Currently the users isp is not being resolved by the
ircd, this is due to mark's new resolv code, might need
to wait for his update, I'm just reporting it here so I
wont forget.

elmer not working

Currently elmer is broken, it is not translating the
user's text as defined in elmer.conf

throttle

The throttle system has been modified with mark's ipv6
patch, it needs to be reviwed, it is being very
sensitive and is also throttolign servers when
attempting to connect them.
