http://speech2text.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=speech2text/speech2text;a=blob;f=CMakeLists.txt;hb=d8946c4dd867cd3a08d8c7b8ca29cb1ae91a1c5b#l14

I am curious when the item "RPM" can be added to the variable "CPACK_GENERATOR" so that the support for this package format will be completed.
http://cmake.org/Wiki/CMake:CPackPackageGenerators#RPM_.28Unix_Only.29

Was sufficient progress achieved by the feature request "Add support of CPack Component to CPack RPM generator"?
http://public.kitware.com/Bug/view.php?id=7645

Is an open issue that is described by the feature request "CPackRPM: Support dependency between RPM component" relevant for your software?
http://public.kitware.com/Bug/view.php?id=11656

Consistent versions settings from the build specification

A commit like "Bump version to 0.4 (0.3.50)" shows that a few places need updates if version numbers are changed.
http://speech2text.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=speech2text/speech2text;a=commitdiff;h=02bff352271c052fb52e3b2af197b47f6d55879e

It seems that following changes show also the corresponding possibility for inconsistent variable configurations.

I suggest to use techniques like the following to improve this situation.
* Header file templates
* additional preprocessor macro application

See also the section "Adding a Version Number and Configured Header File" for corresponding informations:
Minor modifications should enable use of hardware equalisers to filter out non-voice frequencies prior to voice recognition.

Finding the right correlation between input and output in amplitude and delay is the mathematical challenge lurking beneath.

user-defined rules: IPA to SAMPA

Hello!

The import of the Ralf's German dictionary is OK. The IPA-to-SAMPA rules are sufficient for the German language. But what is with other languages that use a different IPA phoneme set? E.g. Ralf's French dictionary ( http://script.blau.in/french-dictionary.xml.bz2 ) makes use of phonemes which are not imported correctly by simon: http://spirit.blau.in/simon/2010/04/06/what-happens-with-french-phonemes/

In my opinion, the decision how to transcribe IPA phonemes into SAMPA should be done by the user (and not by simon because this would be too much work for the simon developers). So something like a plug-in solution might be good.

I have published more than 60 PLS dictionaries. The phoneme sets are of course different from the German phoneme set. It would be good if each native speaker himself could decide how to transcribe a specific IPA phoneme into SAMPA. Simon should offer such a functionality.

E.g. it could be useful to import the IPA-to-SAMPA conversion rules into simon via an XML file with the following format:
<alphabet>
<ipa>ʀ</ipa>
<sampa>r</sampa>
</alphabet>
<alphabet>
<ipa>ɛ</ipa>
<sampa>E</sampa>
</alphabet>

It is possible to import a PLS dictionary into simon. It should be possible to import IPA-to-SAMPA rules into simon. My proposal is as follows:
simon should offer a button (button name: "Import IPA to SAMPA rules") that allows to import an XML file that contains the conversion rules in the format "<alphabet><ipa>UTF-8</ipa><sampa>ASCII</sampa></alphabet>".

Maybe specific IPA-to-SAMPA conversion rules can be integrated into each specific PLS dictionary? This would be an efficient approach to solve phoneme import issues.

What is your opinion?

Could you please add an 'Export test results' button? In sam > Test results > Files, there is an 'Edit sample' button. Next to this button, you could add an 'Export test results' button. I want to use sam to find out which audio files are of poor quality. I have published more than 20000 German audio files ( http://script.blau.in/german-ipa/xhb.xml ), and I need an efficient way to find mistakes. At the moment, simon is not able to import the correct symbol [χ] of the German Ach-Laut. It would be nice if this feature would be added because I want to convert the [x] into the symbol [χ] in Ralf's German dictionary: http://spirit.blau.in/simon/2010/08/23/symbol-of-the-ach-laut/ Could you please add this feature to simon?
