Post responses are not in order

When responding to an existing post, the response does not append to the end of the thread, it can sometimes appear at the top or somewhere in the middle.

After Javaman's post, I replied and the reply is now shown at the top of the responses.

When register_globals in the php.ini is switched on,
the following message appears on the main forum page;

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user:
'user@localhost' (Using password: YES) in
/path/to/main_forum.php on line 36
cannot connect
