Requesting support for the Kermit transfer protocol. Rationale (it's not very good but its all i got:) I have one old school user that transfers qwk packets 10 times a day that loves the fact i still have it as an option. I tested it with HyperTerm and it works. Slow, but it works.

Ugh, Kermit. ;)
So the main reason I haven't done Kermit is that it's massively complex with a huge number of undocumented (or poorly documented) extensions that end up being required for efficient internet usage.
I have not yet seen a BBS anywhere that supports Kermit and does not support XModem, YModem, or ZModem, so I'm not sure it makes sense to add it to SyncTERM.
100% understood and agreed. Looks to be a major pita, but had to ask.. now lets chat about jmodem ;)
Heh, JModem at least isn't terrible, but without restart and streaming, I don't think it's really viable.
Hey,
I came here to file a feature request for Kermit because I noticed when I download from Vertrauen with Kermit, I get better speeds and it's somewhat smoother. This happens with Qodem but as this client is now unmaintained, I was looking for another one. In any case, Qodem's public domain software, so maybe it would be possible to steal code from it.
Thanks for your work on Syncterm by the way. As soon as I get around the
problem on Fedora 42, I'll play more with it.
