Unable to start connection

I am able to connect to FTP server see the other PCs
but when trying to start a VNC it never actually starts
on either PC. It authenticates on the remote machine,
then it sends the command back to the local machine,
and then after hanging on the "Command Recieved" for a
while, it just goes idle, and the remote machine is Idle
too. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.
