Currently, DISTINCT is case-sensitive and this conforms to the SQL standard.
People using other databases such as MSAccess and SQL Server are used to case-
insensitive DISTINCT.

Function to check if range is active

Exported from Bugzilla, issue 3954.

It could be great to have a property or something like that that gives us
this. I assume it shouldn't be too hard to implement.

> There's not an official way, however you can "crack" the TffTable to get
> access to the protected btRangeStack field. If btRangeStack.SavedRequest
> then a range is set.

TffSrBaseCursor should have a OpenMode property

Exported from Bugzilla, issue 3975.

Hi, could TffSrBaseCursor have an public OpenMode property (read only)? I need
to read it in an extender.
Thanks.

There is no way to retrieve the autoinc value of a record added via an INSERT statement

Exported from Bugzilla, issue 3932.

Alan Questell, 9/24/2002
If I use the following logic on a table with an AutoInc:

start transaction
append a record
set fields
post record
value := autoinc field
commit transaction

then there shouldn't be possible that my value would be incorrect; in other
words, no one else could have added a record so that my value would be
wrong, correct?

And if that is correct, what would be the equivalent way using INSERT
instead of the table methods?

Is there an SQL function or planned function that would return the last
AutoInc - something like LASTAUTOINC() that could be used within a
transaction to make sure the correct value was obtained?

Such a function would be very useful.

Thanks for any comments.

I'm not sure I fully understand the question/request. If you insert a record in
a table, which has an autoinc field, the autoinc field gets set automatically
(obviously). You can then query the table afterwards to discover the value of
the autoinc field. Does the user want the INSERT method to somehow return the
value of the last used autoinc field, or what?

--- Comment added on 10/4/02 8:06:31 AM ---
In the same way that once you insert a record via TffTable you can get the
value of the autoinc field, they would like to be able to do the same thing via
SQL. That feature was/is available in SQL Server. Sometimes they may need to
enter a record and either don't want to waste the resources doing a secondary
query or may not have unique field values available to retrieve the record just
inserted.

Don't worry about implementing this bug. This is not something we should do
before TurboPower closes. It can always be done when it is open sourced.
