This is more of a question than a request, but the website and forums are currently down, so I'm asking here.
Anyway, I have found a program which allows you to extract the music from GBA ROMs that use the Sappy Engine as MIDIs and associated soundfonts with uncompressed, raw sample instruments, and the results sound extremely clear and crisp compared to the audio played on emulator or real hardware. I have heard that this is because the DirectSound channels only have 8 bits of precision or something like that.
However, this program doesn't work on all ROMs, and I was wondering if it would be possible to modify the emulator to simply play samples and stuff without compressing them. I know it's probably not worth your guys' time to do so, but I am thinking about doing it myself, but I am very unfamiliar with VBA-M's code, so I am unsure what would need to be modified in order to achieve this. Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated, thanks!
