Provide command to close all windows in a desktop.
This is useful when you've finished an activity laid out on a desktop
and you want to clean it up quickly.

New keyboard shortcut

I realise we can use <ALT>+<SPACE><N> to minimise a window in XP but it's an ugly shortcut and provides no means to restore the last window.

Would it be possible to add a customisable shortcut to minimise a window and another to restore the last window minimised via this method?

I could write something in AutoIT or AutoHotkey but as Virtual Dimension is always running and has similar shortcuts for maximisation, it seems like a sensible thing to add here.

add possibilty for other languages (for example gettext)

It would be nice to have a translated version of Virtual Dimension. If you would implement gettext or other language ressources, other people (for example me) could translate the strings and send the language file to the development (team?), or we do even better and put the different language files in cvs, too.

click through transparent windows

I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be really helpful if I could click through a transparent (or several transparent) window. For example, say I had firefox running, and I don't want to minimize it to open a folder on the desktop. I could hold down control and double click the folder behind firefox. If there was another window behind firefox I would click that window unless it too was transparent.

Multi-monitor support: one wallpaper image spans monitors

Currently if you have a multi-monitor setup and specify a wallpaper image, a copy of the image is displayed on each monitor.

It would be nice if there was an option to specify a single image and have it span the desktops.

I tried using that tool with Virtual Dimension, but switching desktops after setting the wallpaper with that tool screwed up the wallpaper.

Exit confirmation

It's easy to forget that the preview window is currently
focused and press Alt-F4 in the hope that the current top
window will close. The VD silently exits instead, so you
have to re-start it and sort windows manually. At least
an exit confirmation is required to avoid this. Or, even
better, make VD ignore Alt-F4 completely.

Quick desktop rename

I'd like to have a quick-rename feature, to be able to change a desktop name in a couple of clicks. Like shift-click on a preview, type name, press enter. Desktop name is not something permanent, at least as I see it. It's more like a reminder of what I've switched from to return to later, or what I've planned to give attention in the nearest future.

Multi-monitor support -- different VD sets for each monitor

I don't know how difficult this would be, but it would be great if you could have different virtual desktop sets for each monitor in a multiple monitor setup.

By this I mean have the ability to switch between different VDs independently for each monitor. Currently when you switch to a new VD, all the windows on both monitors change.

So, for instance, if I'm working on web application development, on my main monitor I might want to have a browser window open to test changes I'm making. In my second monitor, I'd want to be able to set up different VDs:

- one for text editing and other code-related work
- one for database management-related work
- one for image related work
- etc.

I'd be able to switch between these different VDs in the secondary monitor while my main monitor retains the browser windows so I can always quickly check the outcome of my work.

backup function

Creating and configuring workspaces takes quite some time.

Would it be possible to have a backup function to save the configurations that people could use on different machines and when they have to reinstall their pc?
