Error in log file after running cmd...

cscript D:\Apps\Scripts\waRmZip.wsf /r /f:.log “C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles” /da:60 /dc /ca:14 /log:D:\Apps\Scripts\IISLogsCleanup.log

System: Windows Server 2003

Error...
***** ERROR **** waRmZip.wsf v1.7 (Nov 2005)
*** [“C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles”] base folder does not exist

I'd really appreciate if if someone has information about how to get past this issue.

Prob with ma md switch

Hello.
I use this command to move files from a folder to
another folder:
waRmZip.wsf "D:\Program Files\Uce\LOG" /ma:1
/md:D:\UCELOG\$DAY\ /q
It's work wonderfull but wen i put the ma at 0 he dont
create the folder with day argument and he create a
folder "$DAY".
I try to put only the md command and he make nothing

The /df is not working with subdirectoties (recursive).

I use the following line:
waRmZip.wsf "C:\test" /fo:".log" /r /ca:0 /cp:"C:\Progr
am Files\7-Zip\7za.exe" /cpp:"a -tzip -mx9 OLD\$out
$in" /da:365 /dc /df /dr /v

I want to zip all logfiles in C:\Test\<number>\ TO the
C:\<number>\OLD\ directory.
Then i want to delete the files which are older than 1
year (INCLUDING the compressed files!).
However, it will NOT delete the compressed files.

My directory structure is:

C:\ C:\Test\ C:\Test\1\ C:\Test\1\OLD
C:\Test\2\ C:\Test\2\OLD
C:\Test\3\ C:\Test\3\OLD

There is also a little typo in the help documentation,
there is the "/f" option, however, it would be: "/fo"
OR "/fn".

The $YEAR and $DAY do also NOT work wihtin the "/cpp:"
switch. When i try:
/cpp:"a -tzip -mx9 OLD\$YEAR\$out $in"
It will not work!

I have a feature request for the "/dc" switch: Please
also include the days option here, so "/dc:730" will
work.

Now i can compress logfiles (and move them to the
\OLD\ directory) after 1 year AND delete the
compressed ones after 2 years.

This is especially a handy feature with Deepmetrix
Livestats XSP. It wants the logfiles from the last
year. However i need to store the logfiles from the
past 5 year by LAW (for goverment reasons :( ). But i
will compress those 4 years because i do not want to
save it raw.

Prob with accent characters

When i tried to compress some file with V1.6 which
contain some non us characters such as й аи, i have
this message :
[c:\temp\sagem] --- START PROCESSING
>>> start |COMPRESS| phase - file age > 24,0 hours
!! C:\temp\sagem\readmeй.txt.zip - file does not exist
so the original file will not be deleted
* Processed 2 files in 0,094 sec (21,3 files/sec)
* COMPRESS no objects => no space saved

runtime error with warmzip.wsf

When I execute the following command it errors out.

c:\batch\waRmZip.wsf /r "C:\in" /ma:7 /md:c:\archive\$D
AY /v

Windows Script Host:

This is being run on an Windows 2000 server.

I can sucessfully use the utility with the delete options.

It seems to me in the verbose output that it is not
propbly indexing the location of the files to move (in this
case c:\in\dir\testfile.txt) the verbose output only
shows it as \testfile.txt

I really like the capabilities of this utility. Your
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

warmzip failure

warmzip 1.5 runs test move ok, but when \t flag is
removed, the script cannot find the "base" directory"
with the error:
waRmZip.wsf(572, 7) Microsoft VBScript runtime error:
Path not found. I used the $DAY for the destination,
and it creates that before tehe error, that is why I know
it is the source directory that is the problem.

waRmZip does not utilize extension filters correctly

The "filter only" and "filter not" features of waRmZip
1.4 do not work correctly. I had been trying to use
the fo switch, and I found that it works only until it
finds a file that does not match the filter. For
example, if you want to filter only .log files, the
script will keep matching them until it finds a file
that does not end in .log. Then the script stops
processing files in that directory.

I am not a script programmer (my experience is with
QBASIC), but I think that I have found the source of
the problem. It is in the Walk function. The If
statement that checks whether the filename matches the
filter says that if it doesn't match then exit the FOR
loop. This causes the script to stop processing that
directory.

I am uploading a modified version of the script that I
think corrects this problem. You may, however, have a
better way to fix it. I think you will find that a
similar problem exists with processing hidden files
because there is also an "Exit For" line there.
