run configure does not work

I installed xmleditor-0.5.2 on SuSE Linux 7.2 (Kernel
2.4.4 for i386).
When I run "./configure" I get following message:
checking for glade/glade.h... no
configure: error: glade/glade.h not found. Please
install header files for libglade

The last lines of the file config.log are:
configure:2983: glade/glade.h: No such file or directory
configure: failed program was:
#line 2982 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"
#include <glade/glade.h>
But I'm running GNOME with glade V. 0.6.1
and also you can find /opt/gnome/include/glade/glade.h
the desired header-file.
What is wrong ? Which settings are required ?
