You can even distribute Batik with the xemacs package.
xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/

It can render SVG's and XSL:FOP though i have not tried
the FOP processing yet.

please add support for non-java xslt processor xsltproc

I don't know how easy it would be to do, but how about
adding support for the non-java xslt processor
xsltproc? I use this because it is much, much faster
than one of the java processors like xalan, and has
many features as well.

Add debugger support for saxon 6.5. It appears that the
internal APIs have changed since 6.3, and are no longer
backward compatible.

better logging functionality
