I was looking for software to convert images of text to text. Capture2Text is much better than what I thought I was looking for. It's easy and convenient to use, and does a good job of OCR.

This is a terrific little application. I use it with VBA to capture real-time quotes from my Scottrade account and drop them into Excel. I do the captures every 5 seconds from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM and it never misses a beat. Excel keeps track of my trades and I just set back and watch. I can't do without it. Improvements? Multiple scan windows/areas would be nice. Thanks

Thanks a lot greet program and very handy I have some suggestions put text-to-speech in other languages like Japanese and Chinese and and make Say button for both the original OCR text and in the language translated by the programs also, can the hotkey be used by some mouse with extra buttons in it without needing to use the keyboard combination best regard.

pls add speech.pls pls pls. and mouse ove/hover.

Frankly I don't understand what the fuzz is all about. Not once it captured what it was supposed to capture. It only captured either text from somewhere else or just junk characters. Did I miss something??

Amazingly accurate. Works perfectly with colored text on colored background. Beats anything else I have tried. Doesn't do images in files, but many other programs that do that. Those programs don't usually have a screen capture option which is all I ever want and use.

Excellent! Very easy to use and works very well and quickly!

Great program. I converted columns of text to Excel, and had to convert each column independently, but it beats typing them all in manually. Source file was PDF created in Irfanview from 3 different jpeg images. Copied first column into Word using Capture2Text, used Replace to create single column rather than a large paragraph, then copied into Excel. Repeat for each column. Thanks so much for this cool program.

in v3.5 Capture box have dpi scale issue. Easily fix this by change "Capture2Text.ahk" 'Gui, Capture:+LastFound +AlwaysOnTop -Caption +ToolWindow' to 'Gui, Capture:+LastFound +AlwaysOnTop -Caption +ToolWindow -DPIScale' Edit: Issue fixed in v3.6

My first experience of a screen-grab OCR. I like its inclusion of Japanese and Chinese. I would also have loved the use of Translation service. Like OCR Japanese and Translate to English.

Pretty good accuracy.... I use it for English and Traditional Chinese. English accuracy > 95%, Chinese accuracy >80 %. This accuracy is good, even a lot of paid programs can't beat this, although this is not the best I've used. Unfortunately, that OCR is no longer support for my Win7.....

I've been using 2.4 for a long time. It stopped working, so I tried 3.0. The OCR on 3.0 is MISERABLE. I downgraded to 2.5. That works, but the blue highlight when you are selecting runs out ahead of the mouse pointer without actually selecting anything, so has to be ignored.
