Current version is 4.5.3

This release is mostly hotfix after buggy 4.5.2, but some new improvements are also included. Upgrade is strongly recommended. Sorry for inconvenience.

If you still running 4.5.1, you are not affected by 4.5.2 bugs and can skip this release.

Some features was dropped (see changelog below for details), they was a reason of problems. They will be re-added with further release(s).

Special thanks to two guys: Вячеслав Шумаков and Charlie Smith, who reported main issues and tested experimental builds.

Windows

Linux

  • Installation instructions
  • Sounds playback capability depends on installed gstreamer1.0 plugins/codecs. Install gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly to play mp3/mp4 files.
  • Any version before 4.5.1 has issues with sound playback on Ubuntu 16.04 and newer (also maybe on other modern Linuxes).
  • To use Talking clock plugin install speech-dispatcher package.
  • Application restart may be required after some settings changes.

macOS (OS X)

  • Any version before 4.5.1 has issues with setting saving on macOS Sierra.
  • Application restart may be required after some settings changes.

Whats new in 4.5.3:

Core:

  • compiled with Xcode 7 and Qt 5.8.0 on macOS
  • Qt 5.8.0 for Windows installer version
  • added option to enable/disable state export
  • changed few default settings values

GUI:

  • dropped 'fullscreen windows detect' and 'visible on all workspaces' features
  • fixed "transparent for input" option on macOS
  • bring clock window to front when setting dialog is opened
  • added 'enable show/hide menu item' option
  • small cleanup in settings dialog

General:

  • included INSTALL.rtf in linux versions, thanks to Frank M Waterman, who wrote this instructions and suggest to include it to archive
