My panoramas are usually quite simple, Hugin does a superlative job - thanks everyone.

Doesn't load on Windows 10 the first time. Second load, it just crashes after reporting a GL driver error

This is an incredible piece of software. A bit of knowledge is required to get the right results, but once you read through the online manuals, you're all set. I'm still surprised by how good this tool stitches the pictures together. This is the kind of software I'm donating money to. About the windows guys that say "version 2010 it's already out for a while, but no windows version yet". Well, we are talking about open source. Most of the software is developed for open source operating systems. We are talking about free software! If you need a windows version right away, buy a piece of software that's made for windows. Then it's not free, but available for you right away.

Great software. I've been using it for nearly five years now. To be honest, the user interface is a convoluted mess, and it's quite clumsy to use, but once you get used to it, the results are great. It's worth the trouble, though I can't help thinking this could all be a lot better. But what can you expect from open source, really?

User has to set tons of control points. That's the job of a decent program. Control points can't be set very accurately. Colors or lighting are not matched with nona stitcher, PTStitcher is not working. If this was all opensource had to offer, I'd not have chosen linux.

I use it to stitch together stacks of up to 100 photos in combination with a python script I wrote. It does exactly what it says on the tin, reliably.

outstanding tool for those who take the time to learn how to use it

It is perfect tool. I'm using Hugin for years, stitching different panoramas - nature (mountains and hills, forests and seesides), city views and separate buildings. From small (2-3 separate images) to big (20-25 images) and it works. Do not forget to install Autopanno tool for control point generation. Also try to set vertical and horizontal lines manually. Is it fast or slow? I think Hugin is resonably fast, of course, you need to have enough memory for big pano-s :). Could not compensate distortions of your kit lens? Strange, at least it corrects distortions from Pentax 18-55 kit lens good enough. Except chromatic aberations, you should correct them before. Or may be you were moving...

It's great for making huge panorama out of several pictures. You can also make HDR panoramas! I've been using it for years. It's a really active project, with lots of users involved, students helping each year during the Google Summer Of Code. It works really well, even if it may still not be as intuitive and fast as other commercial products, but it's improving everyday and you have a lot of control on what you're doing.
