When it comes to heavy duty editing, in multiple languages, this is what I use. Probably gets launched almost as many times a day for me as Windows Explorer. If you can't find a plugin here to do what you want, just write your own.

Jens has done countless hours of work, much of it thankless, developing several plugins for Notepad++ & maintaining the Notepad++ Plugins project. I can honestly say, as terrific as an application as Notepad++ is, it wouldn't be the same without Jens' contributions.
