We've just moved to OpenLP and it suits us really well. And for free!

I came to this project after doing a search for OS X software- the project states it is a Cocoa app, but I can't find any other references or links to the Mac app.

I've tried a couple of software that enable me to project lyrics and bible verses and I always found something or the other missing in them. As of now, OpenLP solves most of them and is pretty easy to use. I have started using it and figured out how to use it without going through the documentation even once. Only to upload a Bible I required the documentation. So its pretty cool.

Prior to using openlp, we were using powerpoint. Each week was a chore as we had to copy in slides from a large number of individual powerpoints, and then type out and format bibles verses. Showing video was always a hit and miss exercise. We started looking at commerical software such as songpro and mediashout, but it was so expensive and our budget had been spent on the projector and laptop! Now we're using openlp, and life is so much easier. I can pull together all my songs from the database and add a bible verse easily and quickly, even mid-service. No longer do I have to drag the media player window across to show a video on the second monitor, since openlp plays these too. Preparation used to take over half an hour, but now it can be done in a few minutes. If you have a projector or are looking to get one, then I seriously recommend you give openlp a try!
