Waste of an hour. Downloaded, followed typical install. Once installed I got error message: can't run because missing MSVCR110.dll. Said to run the install again, so I did. Same thing. I uninstalled all componenets, downloaded again. Reinstalled and got same exact message 3 times. Unable to use it!

You have not read the warning regarding the prerequisites. And yet, this warning begins with: BEFORE proceeding with the installation of Wampserver, you must ensure that certain elements are installed on your system, otherwise Wampserver will absolutely not run, and in addition, the installation will be faulty and you need to remove Wampserver BEFORE installing the elements that were missing. And this warning is displayed just before the installation actually starts.

I appreciate that the only thing that is typically running all the time is their tray icon. From the icon you can selectively, start, stop, and restart the database and or web server. Since it's a development laptop, I don't want the security risk or performance burden of having Apache or MySQL running all the time.

best php server ever tested i had tested couples of php server software, but wamp server work best tested on Windows8 Consumer Preview & Developer Preview, Windows 7, Windows Xp

Nice and easy , but reading an earlier review I can offer this help. To get it working on XP you must have the VC Redistributable installed as otherwise whats happening is a side by side error 'Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC90.CRT'. Download and install from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=5582 Hope that helps others before giving a thumbs down ) , Cheers Neil
