They don't encode QR Codes with ISO 8859 1 encoding, meaning that non american letters are encoded wrong a lot of the time. Something which should be fixed.

Did you try the switch "--binary". I suppose, your issue is the automatic ECI feature of zint.

The project is really useful. But faced a problem that i cannot get the exact barcode number as text in return which will be printed on the barcode. Thank you for the feature request. Please consider to fill a ticket with a concrete description. I suppose, this is a sensible feature. Others asked to name the file as the contents, which is a similar request. -

This is often compared to another project, implementing the special character ECI, FNC1-FNC4, Macro05,06 etc by ~1, ... ~d is implemented by \x Zint does not need that, as those characters are automatically added by data and command line analysis. Nevertheless, the tilde aproach would be sometimes helpful for testing purposes. Thank you, Harald -
Good work, great software, using it for DataMatrix generation. It should be noted that order of parameters is important in command line, for example type of code must be written before coded text e.g. zint -b 71 -d DATA (not zint -d DATA -b 71)

Hats off to the developer(s) for producing such a slick and fully functional piece of code. As another reviewer pointed out, the command-line interface ("Zint -help") is really useful.

This was just what I needed for work, but it was clumsy making the same QR codes with different values. so I made a python script that automates that part for me in a gui. this software has a great commandline interface (zint.exe) that you can use to make barcodes very fast.

Not for me! Unfortunately, it does not work with 8-bit characters. Probably some unicode and other character sets mismatch. My swedish åäö comes out as chinese in the other end.Reply from Zint Barcode GeneratorPosted 2019-02-08
I suppose you were hit by the included ECI features and your bar code reading environment does not support it. Consider to use the binary switch to switch it of. Hope this helps, Harald -

The Zint is very intersting, the batch mode is almost unique among barcode generators and allow integration using command line. Currently I'm trying to figure why the eps output is not working (even the Irfanview image editor can't read the file).Reply from Zint Barcode GeneratorPosted 2019-02-08
May you file a ticket for your issue ? IrfanView requires ghostscript to show eps. So maybe, it is an installation issue? Sorry, Harald -

Zint is designed to do that but there is no dll distributed. You may consider to take the project in backend_tcl and remove the file tcl.c and replace it with your own version. If you want something ready compiled you may use "zint.exe" from the binary distribution and call it in an autmated manner. Hope this helps, Harald -

Very nice and easy to use. I would like to make a couple suggestions to hopefully make the program better for the user. 1, Can you make it remember the user's settings so when the user opens the program, it retains the last configuration they used? (eg Symbology and appearance settings, 2. Can you make it so the user can right click on the barcode image and copy it for pasting? Thank you very much for this application.
