Simulation on energy management of an uneven clustered EH-WSNs by cooperative q-learning Power management in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is very important due to the limited energy of batteries. Sensor nodes with harvesters can extract energy from environmental sources as supplemental energy to break this limitation. In a clustered solar-powered sensor network where nodes in the network are grouped into clusters, data collected by cluster members are sent to their cluster head and finally transmitted to the base station. ...

    Eboracum

Wireless Sensor Networks framework for PtolemyII/VisualSense

This project contains an infrastructure for visual simulation of wireless sensor networks, which allows evaluate the energy consumption of the network when running reactive applications whose load is described by stochastic models. Besides of the performance evaluation of different network configurations, it also provides resources for evaluating dynamic network management strategies. Through experiments, the effectiveness of the framework is demonstrated to evaluate network performance considering more realistic load models as well as to evaluate strategies for load balancing.

    JSensor

high performance computing, Wireless Sensors Networks Simulators

How can we analyze the water quality of a river? How can we monitor streets, cities, provinces of a country? How can we predict and prevent problems coming from earthquakes, snowstorms, fire spreads and all kinds of natural disasters? How can we test some new drugs without using animals? These and many other problems are initially solved by using simulators. It is extremely expensive, and sometimes dangerous, to test initial ideas in a real environment. We must use simulators to achieve...

    WSN Localisation

Localisation system in wireless sensor networks using ns-2

This project presents an extension to ns-2, which enables a normal user, who has basic knowledge of ns-2, to simulate localization system within a wireless network. Moreover, this project would be beneficial to researchers who want to implement new or existing localisation algorithms and anyone new to ns-2 who wish to know more about how a simulation project is built and structured. [1],[2] provide more details. References [1] A. M. Abu-Mahfouz and G. P. Smart Grid Co-Simulator

Windows code with Omnet++ and OpenDSS simulator

We have developed a co-simulator which combines support for power device models and communication models to improve practical investigation of the Smart Grid. Our proposed system uses OpenDSS power system simulator and OMNeT++ communication system simulator which are available under an open source licence. We have resolved a synchronisation problem between already existing communication and power networks simulators. This is done through a software interface between the communication...

    Enhanced Stable Election Protocol- SEP-E

An enhanced stable election protocol for wireless sensor network

While wireless sensor networks are increasingly equipped to handle more complex functions, in-network processing may require these battery powered sensors to judiciously use their constrained energy to prolong the effective network life time especially in a heterogeneous settings. Clustered techniques have since been employed to optimize energy consumption in this energy constrained wireless sensor networks.

    DEC routing protocol for WSN

A Deterministic Energy-efficient Clustering protocol for WSN

...We propose a deterministic energy-efficient clustering protocol that is dynamic, distributive, self-organizing and more energy efficient than the existing protocols. It utilizes a simplified approach which minimizes computational overhead-cost to self-organize the sensor network. Our simulation result shows a better performance with respect to energy consumption, which is reflected in the network lifetime in both homogeneous and heterogeneous settings when compared with the existing protocols. It is worthy of note that our approach approximates an ideal solution for balanced energy consumption in hierarchical wireless sensor networks.

    WSN-simulation

Simulation of a routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)

The WSN simulator is network simulator specifically designed for wireless sensor networks simulations. It is specifically designed for my own research works. The results may or may not be accurate as other widely renown simulation tools like ns2, netsim, opnet, etc. It uses a multithreaded approach of running events of a network. It was the best solution that I thought which could also help in easily producing randomness in the event scheduling.
