Open Source ChromeOS Audio Conversion Software

LAME is an educational tool to be used for learning about MP3 encoding. The goal of the LAME project is to improve the psycho acoustics, quality and speed of MP3 encoding. Note: we provide source code only!

The SoX Resampler library `libsoxr' performs one-dimensional sample-rate conversion—it may be used, for example, to resample PCM-encoded audio. It aims to give fast and high quality results for any constant (rational or irrational) resampling ratio. Phase-response, preserved bandwidth, aliasing, and rejection level parameters are all configurable; alternatively, simple `preset' configurations may be selected. An experimental, variable-rate resampling mode of operation is also included.

MAD is a high-quality fixed-point MPEG audio decoder with 24-bit output. The implementation is entirely new, based on the ISO/IEC standards, and performs especially well on systems without native floating-point support.

mp3splt is a free utility to split mp3, ogg vorbis and FLAC files without decoding, selecting begin/end time; if file is an album, you can get splitpoints automatically from internet or a local cue, cddb file. It also splits Mp3Wrap and AlbumWrap archives. Supports splitting and trimming by silence detection. For mp3 files, both ID3v1 and ID3v2 are supported using original tags or user defined tags.

The Bauer stereophonic-to-binaural DSP (bs2b) library and plugins is designed to improve headphone listening of stereo audio records. Recommended for headphone prolonged listening to disable superstereo fatigue without essential distortions.

FLAC is a free lossless compressed audio format which supports streaming and archival. The FLAC project maintains the format and provides a reference encoder/decoder and input plugins for several popular audio players.

MPC Maid ("MM") is a software editor for the Akai MPC 500, MPC 1000, and MPC 2500. It is Mac, PC, and Linux-compliant and makes the edition of MPC programs files easy. It also features a semi-automatic slicing tool to chop loops into slices.

WildMidi is a midi processing library and a midi player using the gus patch set.

libTiMidity is a MIDI to WAVE converter library that uses Gravis Ultrasound-compatible patch files to generate digital audio data from General MIDI files. This library based on the TiMidity decoder from SDL_sound library.

A sound enhancing plugin. It's primary goal is to enhance sound of mp3 files, especially compressed in not optimal manner. Crystality consists of bandwidth extender(aka exciter), harmonic booster, rather nice echo and an ordinary stereo extender.

Unicode Rewriter is a Java tool which converts ID3 tags of MP3 files into Unicode. The reconverted MP3 files can be processed by iTunes and Rhythmbox.

Converts a toc generated by cdrdao (or similar) to a .cue as known from tools like EAC. Works only for CD_DA toc.

EnDiskEx is a command-line tool that bulk extracts instruments, sequences, songs, and banks from Ensoniq-formatted disk images (RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA) for the EPS/ASR family of samplers. The extracted files are saved as EFE / SMF / TXT files. EnDiskEx is designed to extract Ensoniq banks for re-creation within a different DAW. It will track down the instrument and song files from bank references even if they were saved on another disk. There also exists a disk mapping feature to correct for any errors in this process caused by having relabeled disks, forgotten to label disks, etc. EnDiskEx has been tested and validated against a variety of RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA images files the dev team has, including but not limited to, the ASR factory disks, the EPS 16+ factory disks, and the EPS (classic) factory disks.

ALCHEMIST is a Korg Trinity to Triton PCG and SNG converter. KORGLIB is a set of C libraries to access Trinity, Triton and Z1 PCG/SNG data.

KurzFiler is a software for editing the files of the Kurzweil sampler series. It is mainly intended for users of these great instruments.

PSID64 is a program that converts PSID and RSID files into C64 executables. This allows users to play PSID and RSID files (originally used by the PlaySID program) on a real Commodore 64 computer or emulator such as VICE.
