Open Source Perl Audio Conversion Software

A Linux CLI tool for converting multiple audio types from one format to another. It can also extract audio from the following video extensions: RM, RV, ASF, DivX, MPG, MKV, MPEG, AVI, MOV, OGM, OGV, QT, VCD, SVCD, M4V, NSV, NUV, PSP, SMK, VOB, FLV, WEBM and WMV. Parallel Processing, a CD ripping function with CDDB support, batch conversion, tag preservation for most supported formats, independent tag reading & writing, service menus for KDE Dolphin/Konqueror, Gnome Nautilus script, and action scripts for Nemo/Thunar are also provided.

Converts a toc generated by cdrdao (or similar) to a .cue as known from tools like EAC. Works only for CD_DA toc.

mp3burn is a simple command line tool for making audio CDs from mp3s, oggs or FLACs without filling up your disk with .wav files. It requires perl, mpg123, oggenc, flac and cdrecord.

mp3clean takes mp3files and presents it's idtag for reediting. If no idtag is found, mp3clean will go through great effort to clean up and create a proposal for IDtags from the filename. Then it creates a new cleaned up filename based on the IDtag

The goal of tagmp3 is to rename and tag albums of mp3 files in an automatic way, retrieving the necessary information from "freedb" servers, without need for the user to type in the authors or the title of the album.

wav2mp3 and wav2ogg are command-line interfaces for encoding large quantities of wav audio files quickly and easily. They have simple interfaces that makes them easy to use to encode a directory full of .wav files into some other compressed audio format.

DVD2MP3 is a perl script which converts audio tracks on a DVD into id3 tagged mp3 files. It was written for Linux, though it could probably be used on other Unixes with little trouble. It requires mplayer, lame, lsdvd, MP3::Tag and Term::ReadLine.

".ECW file" or "waveset" refers to a file with an extension of ".ECW" which stores articulation and sample data used by the MIDI synthesizer of sound cards equipped with an ES1370, ES1371, or ES1373 chip. These sound cards include the Ensoniq AudioPCI, the Sound Blaster! AudioPCI, the Sound Blaster! PCI64, the Sound Blaster! PCI128, and the Sound Blaster Live!. This project is a Perl script which can unpack these files into a .WAV sample, and a corresponding .SFZ file (an open format used by various sample engines to describe sample playback.)
