Display and control your Android device
scrcpy is an application for displaying and controlling your Android device through USB connection (or over TCP/IP). It is cross-platform (GNU/Linux, macOS and Windows) and does not require any root access. scrcpy displays only the device screen but offers great performance (30~60fps) and quality (1920×1080 or above). It’s got low latency (35~70ms) and a very low startup time (less than a second). It offers plenty of great features and is non-intrusive, with nothing left installed inside the device. scrcpy works with Android devices with at least API 21 (Android 5.0) and adb debugging must be enabled on the device. -

libjpeg-turbo
SIMD-accelerated libjpeg-compatible JPEG codec library
libjpeg-turbo is a JPEG image codec that uses SIMD instructions (MMX, SSE2, NEON, AltiVec) to accelerate baseline JPEG compression and decompression on x86, x86-64, ARM, and PowerPC systems. On such systems, libjpeg-turbo is generally 2-6x as fast as libjpeg, all else being equal. On other types of systems, libjpeg-turbo can still outperform libjpeg by a significant amount, by virtue of its highly-optimized Huffman coding routines. In many cases, the performance of libjpeg-turbo rivals that of proprietary high-speed JPEG codecs. libjpeg-turbo implements both the traditional libjpeg API as well as the less powerful but more straightforward TurboJPEG API. libjpeg-turbo also features colorspace extensions that allow it to compress from/decompress to 32-bit and big-endian pixel buffers (RGBX, XBGR, etc.), as well as a full-featured Java interface. -

Filament is a real-time physically-based renderer written in C++. It is mobile-first, but also multi-platform. We are very conscientious about keeping Filament small, fast to load, and focused on rendering. For example, Filament does not compile materials at run time. Instead, we provide a command line tool (matc) that does this offline. Filament is a physically based rendering (PBR) engine for Android. The goal of Filament is to offer a set of tools and APIs for Android developers that will enable them to create high quality 2D and 3D rendering with ease. For both artists and developers, our system will rely on as few parameters as possible to reduce trial and error and allow users to quickly master the material model. A physically based approach must not preclude non-realistic rendering. User interfaces for instance will need unlit materials. Our primary goal is to design and implement a rendering system able to perform efficiently on mobile platforms. -

MozJPEG improves JPEG compression efficiency achieving higher visual quality and smaller file sizes at the same time. It is compatible with the JPEG standard, and the vast majority of the world's deployed JPEG decoders. MozJPEG is compatible with the libjpeg API and ABI. It is intended to be a drop-in replacement for libjpeg. MozJPEG is a strict superset of libjpeg-turbo's functionality. All MozJPEG's improvements can be disabled at run time, and in that case it behaves exactly like libjpeg-turbo. MozJPEG is meant to be used as a library in graphics programs and image processing tools. We include a demo cjpeg command-line tool, but it's not intended for serious use. We encourage authors of graphics programs to use libjpeg's C API and link with MozJPEG library instead. Progressive encoding with "jpegrescan" optimization. It can be applied to any JPEG file (with jpegtran) to losslessly reduce file size. -

We develop lots of different Android apps at Yalantis, and our experience shows that almost every application we deal with needs image cropping functionality. Image cropping can be used for various purposes, from ordinary adjustment of user profile images to more complex features that involve aspect ratio cropping and flexible image transformations. Fresco
An Android library for managing images and the memory they use
Fresco’s image pipeline will load images from the network, local storage, or local resources. To save data and CPU, it has three levels of cache; two in memory and another in internal storage. Fresco’s Drawee shows a placeholder for you until the image has loaded and then automatically shows the image when it arrives. When the image goes off-screen, it automatically releases its memory. A decompressed image - an Android Bitmap - takes up a lot of memory. This leads to more frequent runs of the Java garbage collector. This slows apps down. The problem is especially bad without the improvements to the garbage collector made in Android 5.0. On Android 4.x and lower, Fresco puts images in a special region of Android memory. It also makes sure that images are automatically released from memory when they’re no longer shown on screen. This lets your application run faster - and suffer fewer crashes.
