libjpeg-turbo
SIMD-accelerated libjpeg-compatible JPEG codec library
libjpeg-turbo is a JPEG image codec that uses SIMD instructions (MMX, SSE2, NEON, AltiVec) to accelerate baseline JPEG compression and decompression on x86, x86-64, ARM, and PowerPC systems. On such systems, libjpeg-turbo is generally 2-6x as fast as libjpeg, all else being equal. On other types of systems, libjpeg-turbo can still outperform libjpeg by a significant amount, by virtue of its highly-optimized Huffman coding routines. In many cases, the performance of libjpeg-turbo rivals that of proprietary high-speed JPEG codecs. libjpeg-turbo implements both the traditional libjpeg API as well as the less powerful but more straightforward TurboJPEG API. libjpeg-turbo also features colorspace extensions that allow it to compress from/decompress to 32-bit and big-endian pixel buffers (RGBX, XBGR, etc.), as well as a full-featured Java interface. -

FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), released under the Apache license. The nightly builds are installed into /opt/freerdp-nightly and can be installed in parallel with the distributions regular freerdp package. Network tracing of RDP can be quite a challenge due to a number of factors such as encryption, compression, and the fact that these protocol features cannot always be disabled or worked around. One of the easiest way of decrypting RDP traffic is to configure the server with a self-signed certificate for which the private key is known, and then use this certificate with a network tracing tool to automatically decrypt the packets. -

Cisco has taken their H.264 implementation and open-sourced it under BSD license terms. Development and maintenance will be overseen by a board from the industry and the open-source community. Furthermore, we have provided a binary form suitable for inclusion in applications across a number of different operating systems and made this binary module available for download from the Internet. We will not pass on our MPEG-LA licensing costs for this module, and based on the current licensing environment, this will effectively make H.264 free for use on supported platforms. OpenH264 is a codec library which supports H.264 encoding and decoding. It is suitable for use in real-time applications such as WebRTC. Constrained Baseline Profile up to Level 5.2 (Max frame size is 36864 macro-blocks). Arbitrary resolution, not constrained to multiples of 16x16. Rate control with adaptive quantization, or constant quantization. -

RTAB-Map (Real-Time Appearance-Based Mapping) is a RGB-D, Stereo and Lidar Graph-Based SLAM approach based on an incremental appearance-based loop closure detector. The loop closure detector uses a bag-of-words approach to determine how likely a new image comes from a previous location or a new location. When a loop closure hypothesis is accepted, a new constraint is added to the map’s graph, then a graph optimizer minimizes the errors in the map. A memory management approach is used to limit the number of locations used for loop closure detection and graph optimization so that real-time constraints on large-scale environments are always respected. RTAB-Map can be used alone with a handheld Kinect, a stereo camera or a 3D lidar for 6DoF mapping, or on a robot equipped with a laser rangefinder for 3DoF mapping. -

OpenBLAS is an optimized BLAS library based on GotoBLAS2 1.13 BSD version. The BLAS (Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms) are routines that provide standard building blocks for performing basic vector and matrix operations. The Level 1 BLAS performs scalar, vector and vector-vector operations, the Level 2 BLAS performs matrix-vector operations, and the Level 3 BLAS performs matrix-matrix operations. Because the BLAS are efficient, portable, and widely available, they are commonly used in the development of high-quality linear algebra software, LAPACK for example. The reference BLAS is included inside the LAPACK package. Please refer to tools built under Windows using Cmake the cross-platform, open-source build system. The new build system was developed in collaboration with Kitware Inc. Machine-specific optimized BLAS libraries are available for a variety of computer architectures. These optimized BLAS libraries are provided by the computer vendor or by an independent software vendor. -

spdlog is a header only library. Just copy the files under include to your build tree and use a C++11 compiler. It provides a python like formatting API using the bundled fmt lib. spdlog takes the "include what you need" approach, your code should include the features that actually needed. For example, if you only need rotating logger, you need to include "spdlog/sinks/rotating_file_sink.h". spdlog provides various log targets, which are, rotating log files, daily log files, console logging (colors supported), syslog, Windows event log, and Windows debugger (OutputDebugString(..)). Easily extendable with custom log targets. Log filtering, log levels can be modified in runtime as well as in compile time. Support for loading log levels from argv or from environment var. Backtrace support, store debug messages in a ring buffer and display later on demand. -

PCL is cross-platform, and has been successfully compiled and deployed on Linux, MacOS, Windows, and Android. To simplify development, PCL is split into a series of smaller code libraries, that can be compiled separately. This modularity is important for distributing PCL on platforms with reduced computational or size constraints.
