LAME is an educational tool to be used for learning about MP3 encoding. The goal of the LAME project is to improve the psycho acoustics, quality and speed of MP3 encoding. Note: we provide source code only!

rePear is a tool that allows using an Apple iPod audio player without iTunes. The user can manage the audio files on the iPod with a normal file manager and rePear takes care that they can be played on the device.

Commandline tool for generating MP3 playlists from ID3 tags. Configured by property file, runs head-less; user can schedule server to generate playlists from compound conditions on a regular basis. Java => "any" platform, but only tested on Win32.
