Deep packet inspection for layer 2 (mac), layer 3 (ipv4, ipv6), layer 4 (icmp, tcp, udp), and layer 7 (application-specific). Summary of network flows and all layers of inspected traffic is stored in a database at 1-second intervals. This database is then mined to drive the Apache/PHP web interface. -

The purpose of this program is to monitor the state of an ADSL or VDSL2 connection. It works with DSL routers using Broadcom chipsets, which have a fully functional telnet interface with access to the Broadcom CLI. It also supports some Thomson/Technicolor routers via their custom CLI, but some of the features of the program are not available for these models. All of the data is obtained from the CLI via telnet. Data is displayed in graphical form, and also can be seen in raw telnet CLI format. -

To ensure interoperability - Some internet service providers bind their service to a specific MAC address; if the user then changes their network card or intends to install a router, the service won't work anymore.
