Stretchly is a cross-platform open-source app that reminds you to take breaks when working on your computer. When you run Stretchly for the first time, you are presented with a Welcome window that allows you to change the language, review the preferences, view the online tutorial or simply continue with the default preferences. Stretchly itself lives in your tray, only displaying a reminder window from time to time, which contains an idea for a break. By default, there is a 20 second Mini Break every 10 minutes and a 5 minute Long Break every 30 minutes (after 2 Mini Breaks). You'll be notified 10 seconds before a Mini Break (and 30 seconds before a Long Break) so that you can prepare to pause your work. When a break starts, you can postpone it once for 2 minutes (Mini Breaks) or 5 minutes (Long Breaks). Then, after a specific time interval passes, you can skip the break. Both actions are available by clicking on the link at the bottom of window.

Reminder-ng is a reminder application for GNOME written in C.

YSticky is a portable cross-platform reminder / sticky note application. It is very simple and its use recalls that of the real sticky notes in the following three steps: 1. create a new / take a note; 2. (re)edit it; 3. stick it. YSticky is developed in Java so needs the Java Virtual Machine (version 6 or higher) that, in the case, is very easy to download and install. Reminds once by chosen time period or repeatedly on regular time intervals basis. Elements of the interface dynamically changes to give the user instant grafical feedback of his or her action. Fast, easy to use, and refreshingly without frills, I created CalOMine to both keep track of important events, as well as to yell at me for a pre-set "wakeup" alarm. Based upon SQLite3, you can even use other programs to program-up unique events to one or more independent databases. theCoB: a simple birthday reminder.

Frank Nagl's Birthday Reminder is a tool, where you can save, administrate and edit birthdays. The program is located as an system tray icon. Further it remembers the user with a system tray ballon message, when birthdays are pending in the next time.

Rather than one-time tasks, this program allows you to track repetitive tasks by creating pending "work units", which have to be cleared manually. Pending work units are reminded to the user during login.

This app allows you to create little messages that you can move across the screen that will remind you to do the things u wrote. Sadly you can't delete any of the pins you made, but this feature and many others will be available in the V2 update which will be much better.
