BitVisor is a tiny hypervisor initially designed for mediating I/O access from a single guest OS. Its implementation is mature enough to run Windows and Linux, and can be used as a generic platform for various research and development projects.

This is an insultingly simple project. It's just one file, existential.exe. It's 6 KB in size, has no dependencies or external libraries, and does absolutely nothing whatsoever. So if you need a dummy Windows executable, here ya go.

Development environment for OS/2 and DOS

PTCPas is a free, portable framebuffer library, written in Free Pascal. It allows low-level high-speed graphics access on multiple platforms.

MinForth V3.4 is a classic Forth system with command-line interface. Development resource requirements are minimal. A source text editor and a C compiler are sufficient. By design no toolchain is required to adapt or rebuild MinForth. A complete rebuild takes only few seconds. Current sources are for Windows and Linux (32-bit or 64-bit). MinForth primitive definitions are written in mixed Forth and C language and are transpiled to pure C code. Main but not exclusive application for the transpiler is to build the MinForth V3.4 high-level Forth compiler. MinForth V3.4 is widely conformant to the Forth-2012 draft standard and passes the usual test suites. libTiMidity is a MIDI to WAVE converter library that uses Gravis Ultrasound-compatible patch files to generate digital audio data from General MIDI files. This library based on the TiMidity decoder from SDL_sound library.

JWasm is a free MASM-compatible assembler with these features: native support for output formats Intel OMF, MS Coff (32/64-bit), Elf (32/64-bit), Binary, Windows PE (32/64-bit) and DOS MZ. precompiled JWasm binaries are available for DOS, Windows and Linux. For OS/2 and FreeBSD, makefiles are supplied. Instructions up to AVX are supported. JWasm is written in C. The source is portable and has successfully been tested with Open Watcom, MS VC, GCC and more. As far as programming for MS Windows is concerned, JWasm can be used with both WinInc (32/64-bit) and Masm32 (32-bit). Since v2.01, it will also work with Sven B. Schreiber's ancient WALK32. C header files can be converted to include files for JWasm with h2incX. JWasm's source code is released under the Sybase Open Watcom Public License, which allows free commercial and non-commercial use. There's a bunch of source samples available - they are supplied with the precompiled binary packages.

basE91 is an advanced method for encoding binary data as ASCII characters. It is similar to UUencode or base64, but is more efficient. The overhead produced by basE91 depends on the input data. It amounts at most to 23% and can range down to 14%.
