ELKS is a subset of the Linux kernel that runs on IBM compatible PCs from 8086 up. It is intended to get use out of obsolete old hardware, for use in embedded systems, and as an educational tool. ELKS has been moved to Github to protest SourceForge's installer adware hijacking. This does not directly affect ELKS, but it does affect many major open source projects such as Gimp and FileZilla by attempting to trick the user into installing adware in order to download these programs. Today we present a new virtual SCSI driver for use with GRUB4DOS named SVBus. The driver is used like WinVBlock and FiraDisk to access GRUB4DOS mapped drives from Windows. At the moment VHD file disk and RAM boot are supported. The supported OS platforms are Windows 2000 up to the newest Windows 10 on x86 and x64 architectures. For interested developers the source code is included and licensed under the GPL. The following driver is a patched version of the original Community OFA NVMe Storport Miniport driver. You should install the latest storport hotfix KB943545 from Microsoft. This hotfix contains driver version 5.2.3790.4173 of storport.sys. After this hotfix is applied you can install the NVMe driver as usual. My tests have been done with a Samsung M2 SSD Evo 960 500 GB.

TraceMAC is a Windows/Linux command-line tool that allows you to trace a specific MAC address thru Cisco switches. It works by connecting to a switch using SSH, SNMP, Telnet, HTTP or HTTPS and do some "show commands" and later process the output, this will happen recursively until it finds the switch where that MAC address (PC/Printer/Etc) is directly connected. Note: It works with Cisco switches only and you must have CDP enabled at least on trunks/links between switches!
