This release contains several important security and accuracy fixes.
Preprocessing of certain HTML messages that resulted in a segfault
has been fixed. Handling of certain malformed headers, which could
cause large delays in message processing, has been fixed. Discovery
logic has been simplified and optimized, and several
discovery-related bugs have been fixed. TCP ping logic has been
removed. Stale engine codes for various signature types have been
removed. Several fixes have been made to the installation process.

Vipul's Razor is a distributed, collaborative, spam detection and
filtering network that exploits the broadcast characteristic of spam
distribution to limit its propagation. The primary focus of the
system is to identify and disable an email spam before its injection
and processing is complete. Razor establishes a distributed and
constantly updating catalogue of spam in propagation. This catalogue
is used by clients to filter out known spam.

The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture is composed of several parts.
The first is a fully modularized sound driver which supports module
autoloading, devfs, isapnp autoconfiguration, and gives complete
access to analog audio, digital audio, control, mixer, synthesizer,
DSP, MIDI, and timer components of audio hardware. It also includes a
fully-featured kernel-level sequencer, a full compatibility layer for
OSS/Free applications, an object-oriented C library which covers and
enhances the ALSA kernel driver functionality for applications
(client/server, plugins, PCM sharing/multiplexing, PCM metering,
etc.), an interactive configuration program for the driver, and some
simple utilities for basic management.

Project description:
GNU Wget is a utility for noninteractive download of  files from the
Web. It supports HTTP and FTP  protocols, as well as retrieval
through HTTP  proxies. It can follow HTML links, download many 
pages, and convert the links for local viewing. It  can also mirror
FTP hierarchies or only those files  that have changed. Wget has been
designed for  robustness over slow network connections; if a  download
fails due to a network problem, it will  keep retrying until the whole
file has been  retrieved.

Project description:
sg_utils and sg3_utils are packages that contain tools for working
with devices that use the SCSI command set. They include variants of
the Unix dd command called sg_dd and sgp_dd that speed copies to,
from, and between SCSI disks and CDROMs. sg_map and sg_scan supply
information about SCSI devices and how they are related to other
drivers. There are utilities for timing and testing SCSI devices and
retrieving mode and log page data. The sg3_utils package is for the
Linux 2.4 and 2.6 series, while sg_utils is for the 2.2 series with
some support for the 2.0 series.

L7-filter is a Netfilter match module which classifies packets based
on application layer (OSI layer 7) data. This means that it is able
to classify packets as HTTP, FTP, Gnucleus, Kazaa, etc., regardless
of ports. It complements existing matches that classify based on port
numbers, packet length, TOS bits, and so on. Combined with Linux QoS,
it allows for full layer 7 packet shaping.

syslog-ng, as the name shows, is a syslogd replacement, but with new
functionality for the new generation. The original syslogd allows
messages only to be sorted based on priority/facility pairs;
syslog-ng adds the possibility to filter based on message contents
using regular expressions. The new configuration scheme is intuitive
and powerful. Forwarding logs over TCP and remembering all forwarding
hops makes it ideal for firewalled environments.
